The method

The Ashtanga Yoga method

A sequence learned gradually, where breath, movement and attention are studied together.

01 / ASHTANGA YOGA

A structure that makes room to observe

In Ashtanga Yoga, postures follow an order. Students learn this sequence over time, rather than receiving a different class at every meeting. Returning to the same movements lets you notice your breath, observe change and study more deeply.

The sequence offers a reference. How you move through it depends on the person, the day and the guidance received. Beginning carefully matters more than moving ahead quickly.

ELEMENTS OF PRACTICE

01

Breath

It accompanies movement and helps keep attention with the practice at hand.

02

Repetition

Returning to the sequence allows observation without making every class a search for novelty.

03

Continuity

Practice matures with regularity, patience and attention to your own process.

02 / MYSORE

What happens in a Mysore class

The class is shared, but teaching is individual. Each practitioner works through the part of the sequence they know, at their own pace. Lucas observes, guides and introduces new elements as the practice develops.

New students do not need to memorise an entire series. They learn the first steps, return to them and build familiarity. Experienced students continue their study with guidance.
